April is Distracted Driving Awareness Month.

Host a TextCheck to assess the distracted driving problem in your community and take action to end it!

April is Distracted Driving Awareness Month, so the TLLM team is doing something special with our GetLiving Campaign. We are launching a new program called the TextLess TextCheck, which allows you to survey just how big of a problem distracted driving is in your community, and then begin the process of education and meaningful dialogue that will lead to behavioral change.

Over the course of a week, you will collect data about driver behavior in your community and measure the change effected by educational TextLess Live More events.  How? An observation committee stands at a safe, designated area to record: 1) the number of cars, and 2) the number of drivers who are distracted. This includes texting, Snapchat, changing music, or anything that requires one or both hands touching or holding a device. After Day 1, you will host a TextLess Live More Pledge Event to educate your community about the dangers of distracted driving. Then, following the event, you will repeat the survey to see if the education you provided had a measurable impact. Data from Day 1 is compared with data from Day 5 to measure the level of distracted driving and the changes between pre-and post-education behaviors.  Follow the steps outlined on the next page to gather meaningful, accurate data.

This three-part program is an amazing way to introduce TextLess Live More to your community or to remind the people around you about the dangers of distracted driving and Get Living.
