Samantha is next for our TLLM EB introductions!
Samantha Greenfield is a Junior at Lakewood Ranch High School in Florida, but she is actually graduating from high school a year early, so she’s kind of a senior also! Sam is President of her school’s SADD chapter, is involved with National Honors Society and participates in HOSA (an organization for future health professionals), as well as being Co-President of the TextLess Live More Engagement Board this year.
Samantha wants to pursue a career in medicine, and is applying to a number of colleges with BS/MD programs. This means that she wouldn’t have to apply to medical school after her bachelors, but would just automatically continue, which is pretty cool. Sam’s mother was the one who inspired her to go into medicine. Although Sam doesn’t know which type of doctor she wants to be, we are sure she will make her mom proud in her pursuit of helping others!
This is Sam’s second year on the TLLM Engagement Board. She joined SADD as a freshman, and the president of her SADD chapter at that time encouraged her to get connected with TextLess Live More. Samantha must have enjoyed her time in the group last year since she’s back again.
When asked what part of TLLM’s mission resonates with her the most, Sam told us it’s definitely the digital wellness aspect of our goal. Samantha joined TextLess Live More when the COVID-19 pandemic was really bad, and TLLM “gave [her] an outlet to be more productive and present with the time and to be outdoors,” as well as her many reasons to not be on her phone. Digital wellness was especially important during the time of our lives when many of us were looking at computer screens for a majority of our day. Students attended class online, and screens ruled their lives. It’s good to take a step back from laptops and phones, to give your eyes, mind, and body a break.
Sam practices digital wellness often because of her love of the outdoors. She loves going to the beach, going kayaking, and playing flag football. She also plays violin!

Samantha also has a fluffy dog, Oliver. Described as “a shih tzu, but bigger”, she loves him very much.
