Riding for Merritt 2018

Goal to Build Team of 50 Riders, End Distracted Driving & Save Lives

September 4, 2018

Rich Levitan rides for daughter Merritt in the 2018 Rodman Ride

Five years ago this summer, on July 3, 2013, our family lost our vivacious, beautiful, brilliant and talented daughter Merritt to a young driver who was texting-behind-the-wheel. Merritt was 18, had just graduated from Milton Academy and was on a cross country bike trip to celebrate her summer before entering Colgate University. While our world changed irrevocably on that tragic summer day, our mission to end distracted driving, save lives and change lives had begun. We are riding in this year's Rodman Ride on Saturday, September 22, 2018 to raise important funds for two life-saving and life-changing initiatives in honor of Merritt. We appreciate any support you can give either by joining our team or supporting our fundraising efforts. This is our 5th year riding in the Rodman Ride, and we have a goal to build a team of 50 riders - either in person or remotely. Please consider joining our team. Since its founding in 2013 by Merritt's friends at Milton Academy, TextLess Live More has been presented to thousands of young people around the United States and received national press and recognition for education and awareness initiatives to end distracted driving permanently. In April 2018, TextLess Live More became a national partner with SADD, Students Against Destructive Decisions, the nation's preeminent youth health and safety organization. Merritt Levitan Scholarship Fund at TEEP The Merritt Levitan Scholarship at TEEP provides critical funding for character and leadership building for Boston's inner city high school youth. TEEP is supported by the Trinity Boston Foundation. On behalf of my wife Anna and our children Hunter (now 21) and Joe (now 19), we thank you for supporting my ride, Team Merritt's Way and these two important, life-altering initiatives. We ride for Merritt. We ride to save lives. We ride to change lives. Join us! Thank you, Rich Levitan
